Here at Sutton Parish Council, we are dedicated to taking whatever measures are within our
power to support the goal of being carbon-neutral by 2030.
To that end, we have created a climate group of councillors and other members of the community to look at
ways in which we can all take action to reduce carbon emissions and be more climate-friendly.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please get in touch with the parish council -
we would love to hear from you. Keep an eye out for our plans and actions to help our community become more sustainable.
Together, we can make a difference!

HOW BIG IS  YOUR ENVIROMENTAL FOOTPRINT

How Big is your Enviromental Footprint?
Have you ever wondered what your impact is on the environment?

The WWF has created a quiz to help you find out. It only takes a few minutes to complete, and you may be surprised by the results. The questionnaire asks about your habits and lifestyle choices, such as how you get around, what you eat, and what you do with your waste. Based on your answers, the quiz will calculate your enviromental footprint and give you some tips on how to reduce it.

So why not take a few minutes to find out what your impact is? You might just be able to make a difference.
A Local Person's View of the the Enviromental Footprint...
Janet Parkinson
“I have just challenged myself on the WWF Footprint Calculator, where you can assess your carbon emissions and learn how to do better.
As you pick your answers it is very difficult to decide exactly where you stand - but I soon realised that I am not going to be the best - I like meat, use fossil fuel and buy too many wrapped food items. On the other hand, I have not been on a flight for 5 years, do not drive many miles, I have turned down the water temperatures for hot water and central heating and limited the time I turn it on.

As it turns out my score was higher than average so I better try harder. However, it has raised my awareness that there are many small differences I can make. If we all did a little bit, we can all help to save the planet”
