You may be aware that Cheshire East Council has been conducting a review of town and parish council governance arrangements across the Cheshire East Borough.  The Public Consultation ran from 6th September to 28th November 2021.  The review was to impact our parish in the following ways:  • The Lyme Green Ward will move within the Macclesfield Town boundary; • The Sutton Rural Ward will become a new Parish Council and be expanded to include Wincle and Macclesfield Forest & Wildboarclough; • Sutton Parish will become much smaller and consist of the Sutton Lane End and the Langley Wards.  Community Governance Review update
The final recommendations are for no changes to Sutton.

The recommendations have to go through the Community Governance Review Sub-Committee on 4th April. Details of the recommendations can be found using the following links:

There were 381 responses from Sutton, of which 372 were via the consultation survey, eight by letter or email, and one via a
completed Parish Council leaflet.

None of the submissions by letter, email or leaflet supported the Draft Recommendations. Of the 372 survey responses, 360 (97 per cent) disagreed overall with the Draft Recommendations; 225 of these included comments objecting specifically to the proposals for Sutton Parish Council’s Lyme Green ward.

Thank you to all residents who responded to the review and for the support from our Ward Councillor and MP.
