Community Litter Pick - Great British Spring Clean (25th March – 10th April)
The Keep Britain Tidy organisation is sponsoring a Great British Spring Clean from 25th March – 10th April.
We would like to invite all members and groups within the community to consider setting up a litter picking activity within these dates. If you let us know what it is you are planning, we will look to support, promote and co-ordinate the activities across the parish and also supply the results back to the Great British Spring Clean so we can promote the parish’s efforts.
Prior to Covid, the three villages had regular litter picks and as we are approaching the Queen’s Jubilee year it will be a great way to make the parish look its best.
Litter Pick Update
Our first litter pick of the year was with the brownies and guides and held on 30th March. There was a great turnout and despite the cold everyone enjoyed themselves particularly the flurry of snow.
From the scout hut the group travelled up Church Lane to the Pleasance and war memorial. They then moved on to around the school and Bell Avenue, around the bungalows on Tunnicliffe Road and finally to the shop. Link for brownies and guides report.
Thank you to Ansa for providing litter picks and bags.
Our next litter pick is planned for Langley on the morning of Monday 11th April at 4 p.m. If you would like to join in please meet at the corner of Main Road and Holehouse Lane at 4 p.m.
If you would like to arrange your own litter pick please contact the Parish Council through our website or email firstname.lastname@example.org
